Press for Peace Foundation-a UK based cultural and humanitarian organisation has announced the winners of Urdu article writing contest which was held between 5-25 June 2021.
Ms. Qaratul Aine Anee – Faisalabad – Winner of the first position
The submissions were required in essay or poetry format from amateur and professional writers.
The competition was organised to acknowledge and highlight the work of Ms. Tasneem Jafri- a renowned children fiction writer of Pakistan.

Qaratul Aine Anee won the top position followed by Itrat Batool Naqvi and Fauzia Taj for a joint second slot.
Whereas, Nusrat Naseem and Manaza Akram jointly clinched the third position. The fourth position was also jointly held by Rifat Amanullah and Farida Gohar.

In addition, the competition aimed to create interest in environmental and scientific subjects among the youth.
Ms Jafri is a reputable name in children’s literature in Pakistan. She has written fifteen books for children on various topics which include short stories, novels and essays on science and environmental issues.
To promote children literature she has initiated Tasnim Jafri Awards which are awarded to various categories in children literature every year.
She is a sincere philanthropist and has been supporting a number of welfare projects for well being and socio economic development of marginalised communities.
